After graduating from the University of Warwick, Anne served in the Royal Navy for 9 years as a weapons systems analyst before having a career break to raise two children to school age. However, by the time the second child was three she had enough of domestic bliss and joined Marconi Defence Naval Systems in sales and business development. In 1996 Anne moved to Flagship Training Ltd in a project Management role and spent five years there. She managed the simulation and training for the sale of the Upholder Class submarines to Canada and was part of the successful bid for the Astute Class Training PFI. She returned to Aleni Marconi Systems as Head of Training Services, where she was involved in a number of PFI bids and service delivery contracts. Anne joined the board of Insight as General Manager of the Simulation and Training Division in 2001. Anne started Mabway Ltd with Mark in 2004, and is Managing Director of the company.
Mark O’Reilly retired from the Queens Royal Irish Hussars in 2002 as a Lieutenant Colonel. During this career he has held a number of key training and operational posts both in support of the military and the civil sectors. His operational experience includes Northern Ireland, Cyprus and Iraq in 1990. He finished his army career as the Assistant Military Director (Army) in the Defence Export Services Organization (as it was then) and, as a result has considerable experience in international training. Mark then spent two years as Head of Marketing and Communications for a major defence supplier before becoming one of the founder directorsof Mabway Ltd in 2004. Mark is married to the Managing Director, Anne and between them they have four children. Two of whom are working for Mabway
Prior to joining Mabway, Chris enjoyed a 25-year career in the British Army, retiring as a Captain (late entry) in 2006. His operational experience includes service in North West Europe, Cyprus, United States of America, Canada and The Middle East. Chris's last appointments included: Exchange Warrant Officer at The United States Armor School, Fort Knox, Kentucky; Regimental Sergeant Major; Career Management Officer; and Training Officer. Since joining Mabway in April 2006, Chris has been employed as a Trainer, Programme Coordinator and Operations Manager before being invited to join The Board of Directors as Training Director in 2012 and, since September 2015, Business Support Director. Chris holds current qualifications in Management & Leadership (to Masters Level) Human Resources, Management Accounting and Adult Learning & Assessment. Chris has been married to Tracey since 1987 and they have two (grown-up) children.
Before joining Mabway in September 2015, James enjoyed a 30 year career with the British Army serving with the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards mostly in Germany and in staff appointments in the UK. His operational experience includes multiple deployments to Iraq and the Balkans; he was also assigned as an advisor to the Sultan of Oman’s Armed Forces from 2000 – 02. Latterly, the majority of his service was in the UK’s Land Warfare Centre supporting training for operations. His service culminated with a two and half year assignment with the British Embassy in Lebanon.
Michael joined the Royal Navy in 1965 as a specialist electrical engineer and travelled the world extensively in a wide variety of ships. He served in operations worldwide including the Aden conflict, Northern Ireland, the Gulf conflicts and Op Telic. Later in his career he undertook a number of Royal Navy managerial appointments including the Second Sea Lords Liaison Team, Executive Warrant Officer of HMS Edinburgh, and Executive Warrant Officer of the Royal Navy’s Command Leadership and Management training school. In 2006 he left the Royal Navy to manage technical training within the Electrical Training School at HMS Sultan. Michael joined Mabway in 2008 as the technical training manager specifically to form a team which would deliver a training solution for the Type45 destroyer. This team later created a number of training solutions for a range of and civilian organisations. He was awarded the MBE in 2000 and is a proud recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal.
After finishing school at 15, Ian joined the Army as a junior entrant, enjoying a long career of nearly 40 years and rising to the rank of Major. During this time he was employed in a number of Command, training and administrative posts, including the training of recruits and being responsible to the head of the organisation for all matters of junior rank discipline and the unit Technical Stores, Ammunition and Vehicle Fleet. Notable achievements included passing pre-parachute selection and gaining his ‘wings’ at 38 years old, the operational deployment as a staff officer with 5 Airborne Brigade for the intervention in Kosovo given one days notice, the employment as the Urban Tactics officer with OPTAG and Command of a forward operations base in the Sangin Valley Afghanistan. Ian retired from the Army in 2011 having served in Northern Ireland, West Germany, Belize, Gibraltar, Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Bosnia, Cyprus and Afghanistan. Since leaving the Army Ian has worked for Mabway Ltd, attracted by the prospect of delivering high quality training support of the armed forces. He has been employed as the Senior Operations Manager dealing with events in the field as well as overseeing the minor course run elsewhere. Ian has recently been made the Business Support Manager drawing on his experience as a quartermaster. Ian has been married twice and has four children the youngest two being primary school age.
After completing 25 years in the Scots Guards, the latter 4 years working as an analyst for HQ Infantry (D Combat). I took some time out before being introduced to Mabway Ltd, supporting large FTX exercises as part of the COEFOR. In October 2012. I headed up the SERE contract down at RAF St Mawgan before resuming my current position as operations manager at the infantry battle school in Brecon (IBS). My main strengths are working with people, currently running networks of over 40,000 ex forces personnel helping them find employment. Which aids in the recruitment process for Mabway. I have many skills in Internet marketing, running my own web server, and still avidly building an online presence.
Before Joining Mabway, Sankar worked with Serco as the Major Events Manager responsible for supporting the Army’s pre deployment training for Op HERRICK (Afghanistan) for a year and a half during which he was awarded the 2012 Serco Pulse Award for commitment. His 33 year career span in the British Army’s Brigade of Gurkhas includes service in over 12 countries across the world and operational tours in Northern Ireland (not normally done by Gurkhas), Kosovo, Bosnia and Sierra Leone and has been in command of both Gurkha and British soldiers. During his time with Mabway, he has continued to manage major events in support of the Army’s high tempo of operational training exercises. Sankar is married, has two grown up children and enjoys sea fishing, walking his dogs, playing the guitar and gardening.
After graduating from Oxford Brookes University, Jol spent 6 years in IT Software and Security sales in a range of positions from internal phone sales to on the road business-to-business account management for large scale international organisations including Sophos and Norman Data Defence Systems. Jol moved to London in 2011 and explored the recruitment market, where he hired senior level executives into the Technology sector, with a particular focus on Managed Services. In 2013 the opportunity arose to work at Mabway, and after discussions on skill-sets, he took on the responsibility of managing Payroll for our casual workers across all business streams. The scope for the role looks for Jol to be active on site with customers from October 2015 as part of our delivery model.
Having gained a Business and Management Degree from Oxford Brookes University, Olly join the Army in 2005. Serving 8 years as an Infantry Officer in the Royal Regiment of Scotland he took part in 2 tours of Afghanistan along with exercises in Brunei, Belize, Malawi and Kenya. On leaving the Army in 2012 he initially worked for a number of Private Security Companies before starting work as the Infantry Battle School Operations Manager on the COEFOR contract in 2014. Now working for Mabway he is the SCHINF Liaison Manager, ensuring the link between the Mabway Operations Team and customer is effective, and that relationships with key stakeholders are maintained. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and is in the Army Reserve.
The convenience of the family business meant that Claire has been involved with Mabway Ltd from an early age. After spending most of her teens filling in expenses forms, Claire decided to take a break from Mabway Ltd to do a bachelors degree in Politics and International Relations at Royal Holloway University. Since graduating, Claire spent some time travelling around Southern Africa and indulging in her passion for animal and marine conservation. Since returning Claire has taken on the role of Resources Manager and is a key member of the bid team. In her spare time, Claire enjoys yoga, skiing, and good food!

Mabway has been involved in supporting naval and maritime training since our inception. We determine training needs through gap analysis and creating a training package to fulfill those needs. Mabway specialises in engineering training for the maritime sector.
