Mabway donates to Bletchley Park.

Mabway values its relationship with the British Computer Society (Women) and following a presentation on women in business by Anne Thomas to a BCS Women’s lunch, Mabway was invited to participate in a Premier Tour of Bletchley Park.

Bletchley Park, a place often surrounded in mystique and history, is the home of the Britain’s Code breakers during the Second World War. The museum holds reconstructions of the Bombe and Colossus machines that were instrumental in cracking the German Enigma codes in the war and during the ensuing Cold War. The fascinating tour underlined the phenomenal intelligence and brilliance of the people engaged with code breaking and demonstrated the sense of duty and selfless dedication to country that people displayed for no recognition whatsoever. For security reasons, much of the equipment was destroyed after the war and thus all the equipment has had to be built from photographs and very rough sketches.

Bletchley Park stands as an excellent legacy to people who have served their country and Paul Dutton of Mabway was delighted to be able to present Bletchley Park with a cheque of £500 as a small contribution to the maintenance of that legacy
