Purpose of the Safety Critical Communications Training Course

The course has been designed to raise standards of communication across the whole railway industry. The course targets all forms of communication in every role undertaken on the railway to improve both safety and efficiency. To achieve the culture change the course content is:

• Standards - existing communication standards in theirs and other industries.
• Leading the change:- how individuals can make a difference by raising their own standards and setting a positive example to others.
• Voice procedure:- the application of the rules and communications advice.
• Scenario training - used to build confidence in the use of the set voice procedures.
