Mabway has significant experience in the delivery of training to people preparing to operate in culturally diverse environments. The training is designed to ensure that individuals are able to interact effectively as they arrive.
Mabway has played a key role in the preparation of 8 brigade sized formations deploying to Iraq. Each brigade package contained cultural training modules designed to ensure that soldiers understand the environment in which they will be working. The training is delivered using indigenous personnel to teach language and culture to all soldiers as they undergo theatre specific pre-deployment training. The instructors then play the role of key individuals in the Iraqi or Afghan society in practical exercises to reinforce the learning process.
Mabway also delivers similar cultural training assistance to the Army Medical Services. This consists of individuals playing the role of patients to ensure the medical staff understand the cultural sensitivities involved in the treatment of local people – a fundamental part of any “hearts and minds” campaign designed to win the confidence of the local population.
